WEC was contracted initially to install 72 uplift anchors for the building expansion and the Interiors Responsibility Center (IRC). With the startup of Phase II, an additional 94 anchors are being added. The uplift anchors were installed around aggregate piers installed by Wurster Betterground Holdings (WBH) and socketed into the Copper Marl. The uplift anchor installation was carefully coordinated with WBH to make sure aggregate piers weren’t compromised during the drilling process.
