When the general contractor needed underpinning at Clemson’s oldest academic building they called Wurster to solve their problem. Micropiles were drilled through existing footings and bracketed to footings to make sure the existing building wouldn’t settle from the construction process. Challenges including aiding in the investigation process for existing footing configuration on the building, working on a small site, and working around existing utilities that ran on top of those footings.
