WEC received a call about a building at the Emerald High School in Greenwood, SC, that was seeing serviceability issues and cracks in the walls, floors and ceiling. This building was 8 feet from the edge of an MSE wall that was deflecting and had a leaking water line between the building and edge of wall. WEC elected for a helical pier underpinning approach to shed the load of the building off the MSE wall and stop settlement and a soil nail wall approach to address lateral movement of the wall.
