WEC was contracted to underpin and shore 4 elevator pits at 4 existing dorms at Furman University with micropiles and soil nail walls. New elevators were going to be built directly adjacent to the existing basement walls requiring our micropiles to be drilled through existing basement walls and recessed into the walls. Challenges including working on a tight sight and balancing schedules for 4 dorm renovations happening concurrently.
